The band’s sound blends blues, West Coast swing, Austin roadhouse rock, soul and rock ’n’ roll. Band members have variously performed with Charlie Musselwhite, Elvin Bishop, Gladys Knight, Big Joe Turner and Luther Tucker, among others. Down and DirtyĬocoa Beach band Unkle Dirty, featuring Lil’ Linn, may be new on the scene, but the journeyman players have years of touring and playing experience propping up their formidable chops. Texas resident Brown has published around 20 books, including the poetry collection “Two Tables Over,” which won the 2009 Oklahoma Book Award. Local bard, poet, activist and self-proclaimed leftneck Grant Peeples welcomes brother in poetical arms Nathan Brown to share an evening of rough-hewn poetry, music and storytelling at 8 p.m. The theme is “Fall Fest.” Merchants will have extended hours, so browse and nosh until it’s time for the concert by Mainstream Band at 8 p.m. Point your chariot north for the First Friday Sip & Stroll from 6 to 10 p.m. The Intoxicators! will be surfing into the night at the Crum Box Gastgarden.
